Asda and primark ones are much cheaper, and do the same job. The only difference is they don't have the grobag label.

Thanks very much everyone :) I am looking at the second hand dreampods, not seen the ones in Asda etc, will have a look if we ever go there.
The gro bag website is good as well, didn't realise so many other companies did these 'bags'.

I think they are a great idea :)

So, am I right in thinking I need about 3 of each size and tog? I will just be getting the 0-6 months at the moment, so will get 3 of the 1 tog and 3 of the 2.5 tog. Are the 0.5 togs worth it?

Will baby wear long sleeved bodysuit with them in colder months and short sleeved in warmer? :o

I wouldn't get the 1tog at the moment as you may not need this until baby is bigger & in the next size up. Also I would only get 2, one for washing one for wearing. Remember it is like a duvet & you would not change that every night - you may need to reasses this if you find baby is a sick one!

Also we found the ones with the poppers at the shoulders fab, as you could put baby to bed asleep without too much manovering if necessary.

We also had one which grew with the baby, it had poppers at the bottom to fold over a big flap, it meant it lasted a lot longer - can't remember which make it was though.

    I've been Money Tipped!
They are always in the sales e.g summer weight on sale in winter and vice versa so its easy to plan ahead as sizes are 0-6 6-18 and 18-36 so easy to work out by next season what size you will need :)

My DD was too small for them for ages, and we also coslept so no real need as she was under our covers, but we did start to use them when we put her to bed on her own before we went up, then we'd lay her on top of our covers, and she liked to have her feet out of her clothes so we swapped from baby gros to trousers and vests and used the bags. They're great, we use them now at 15 months and she is just in one of those on a sheet. I use one or two a week, same as with PJs, but then she doesn;t posset any more!

like a PP said, I would get 2 of the 2.5 tog ones to start with, then if you find you need more (sicky baby etc) you can always get some. I only used the 1 tog on a few of the really hot nights so gonna be a while before you need it anyway ie prob in a bigger size. I only used them until about 14 months with DD1 as then she just had a duvet and was fine.

I would be careful about buying too many. I bought a few of these in various sizes but I have a 'hot' baby so I tried a couple of times but her little head would get all sweaty and hot and she'd wake up because of it.

I tried putting her in one more recently as I figured she was now a bit older and could regulate her temperature better. But she just sat in her cot shouting 'i'm stuck, help me mummy'!! over and over again. Not conducive to a good nights sleeps so i'm afraid they just didnt work out for us!

Sleeping bags are essential for babies less than one. Blankets are fine for a newborn but as soon as they learn to kick they'll have the blankets off in no-time. I remember finding my son, when he was a few months old, huddled into the corner of the cot with no bedding on him at all - the next day I went out and bought a sleeping bag. Think you can get them from Tesco for about a tenner.

I got a couple of sleeping bags from TKMaxx for baby (who is now overdue GRRRRRRRRRR), and then have just been given another two. My mum tells me I was very good at kicking sheets of then crying, so am thinking sleeping bags are the way to go for mine!

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
