Help with my tv dvd please?

Hi I have a dmtech tv dvd combi and don't know if I can record on it - it does have a record button on the controller but I can't work out how to do it.
I have lost the manual for it and it doesnt have a model number on the tv!!
Anyone wiser than me know how I can find out?
Any help would be really appreciated
