Thread hijack: I bought a wifi only Kindle but it won't connect to my network, nor at work. I've had it replaced after going back and forth with tech support but the new one has exactly the same problem (and the new one came before the old one even got returned, so it's not the same machine)! So I'm thinking it must be a problem my end. Nothing on the Kindle forum seems to work. Any ideas??

the browser on Kindle is VERY basic (It's an experimental feature)

you can browse most sites that are not heavy in animation and flash stuff (the screen can't update quick enough so you end up with a smudgy mess on screen if anything changes more than once a second!

Google Mail works but you can't open links (the browser can't handle tabs so will refuse to open any link requiring a new tab) So it's good for reviewing your emails (Think sending emails is ok.)

    What router do you have?
it might be to do with the type of wireless encryption used.

You could make sure your kindle is updated to the latest firmware.

Have to agree with all; great little nifty devices
Yep and the price is right too :D
  • I have to agree that the kindle is great - I have the 3G and wifi one and I love it.
