hello
wasnt sure where to ask this?
son has just upgraded to 18"bike today and i own a clio lol.
now to take dog and child out today i put child in front and dropped the back seats and just about managed but it is too heavy for me and it was a struggle
looking on ebay there are loads of universal bike racks. i have no tobar
are they easy to fit?will it damage my car? i would have to do it myself(female) so would need to be easy to do and im considering getting a bike for me too
thanks for reading

If fitted on roof, be careful where you drive.
If fitted on back, make sure it does not cover number plate and rear lights.
Usually they are easy to fit.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
Lots of them will cover the numberplate and/or the lights so a trailer board will be required.
Straps & plastic/metal clips on most do not seem ideal to me. I would get some roofbars,
Just watchout for barriers on car parks.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I've got a thule, just straps on, easy to fit, unless you have a spolier on the top of the tailgate.0

thanks all
no spoiler and i dont want a roof one i couldnt lift a bike up there. i just dontr want to spend 1/2hr fitting it every time we want to go for an hrs walk lol0 -
Saris bike racks, particularly the Bones, are supposed to be very good and easy to fit. http://www.saris.com/bike-racks/vehicle-racks/trunk-racks.html0

I'm afraid most NON towbar fitted bike racks will take a bit of time to fit each time. Thule ones are good quality but quite expensive.0

I have one like this, Fits in seconds. Towball or towbar mounted.

You think a roof mounted one is going to be a struggle, Try holding clips onto the rear hatch and buckling up the straps at the
same time. Being careful to get it tight but not tight enough to damage the paint or body panel.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Just remove the wheels and saddle, it'll go in the boot no problem.0

Mine has six straps, takes less than 5 minutes. Easy to get the bikes on and off as well. It does cover the number plate, as it's a low mount, but I have a trailer board that plugs into a towing socket. If you don't plan on towing, you can fit a socket in the boot, or just use a high mount carrier.0
