Carphone Warehouse Upgrades

I wonder if anyone has any experience of upgrading through Carphone Warehouse? I currently have a contract with 3, which due to run out on the 15th December. I have seen an upgrade deal on the CPW website for a HTC Desire in white (3 dont issue the white HTC's directly). With 3, you can upgrade, I think 90 days before the end of your contract (theyve called me a few times to upgrade over the last few weeks, offers rubbish!), but a very unsure sounding man at CPW told me I have to wait until my contract runs out if I want to upgrade with them. :eek:

Has anyone else been able to upgrade before the end of their contract through CPW? Thanks
