Sewing machine

someone was asking the other day about sewing machines and I've just come back from aldi and picked up their leaflet for this sunday 15th

theyve got a sewing machine for £39.99!!!
3yr warranty
accessories (small ones) seam ripper etc? maybe etc cant see from picture and my eyes are so bad lol
24 stitch programme

may find it on their website

I paid so much more than this for my brand name one and now I'm gutted.
It looks just as good as mine and if you cant get one off freecycle, though I'd definately look and see first.

I bought that one the last time they were in, and I've found it a great little machine. It's got 4-step buttonholing and drop feed. It looks the same as mine. The bottom bit on the left detaches (you can just see it in the pic on the site) and has a little storage space inside - that contained a ripper, screwdriver, tube of oil, brush, several bobbins and needles, different feet (zipper, button, buttonhole, blind stitch, seaming, + the normal one already attached to it), and two other things that I'm not sure about (can't find the instruction book at the mo!). The black dial on the left changes the tension, the one on the right changes the stitch pattern, and the white one lower down makes it stitch in reverse. Got the usual light, foot control, bobbin filler etc. Very easy to thread - all the bits you have to put it through/around/under/over are all numbered.

Aldi have packs of various sewing accessories in on Sunday as well.
  • is this only for Sunday then ???

Most of the offers at Aldi and Lidl are "Only while stocks lasts", so it depends how many they get in and how fast they are sold.
  • so if I popped in on monday then I might still have a chance then ?? - I suppose I could call first too ot see if they had any

Does this machine come with a hard cover or any cover and carrying handle?

Also does it have that function for doing hems on stretchy material so it stretches with it? And the function for gathering elastic? Dont know what they are called but mine doesnt have those and I want to replace it
    Thanx

No hard cover but it does come with a soft pvc dust cover(which slips over the carrying handle).

My wife seems very impressed with it and the DVD you get with it is really handy for beginners.

If would definitely call first if you can. The doors opened at 10am this morning and the 8 of us queuing nearly cleaned our branch(Kettering) out.
