New Virgin contract without the contract!
Options
Well, virgin have made a complete pig's ear of setting me up with them.
I ordered an Xperia X10 Mini Pro a couple of weeks ago on a new contract, partly attracted by being able to get a 15% discount on my monthly contract once I sorted out my NUS card.
Phone came, all good, using it for a couple of days when my "credit" ran out. Thought that's odd, I'll check online and see what it says. Apparently it's been set up on PAYG. Thinking this may be a temporary thing I left it a few more days and just carried on using my old phone which I hadn't got round to paying out of the sim only contract.
Still nothing happening with the Virgin phone I call them a couple of days ago to ask what's going on. Cue lots of being put on hold, being told they'd have to do another credit check, at which point I lost it slightly. They've sent me the phone, no charge, they sent me a contract sim pack, there's no way they're doing another credit check for something I basically already have and it's an error at their end.
Back on hold I go. 10 minutes later, operator comes back on and says she will change it over to the contract now. Bit of a pause, back on hold I go.
Operator comes back saying there's a technical problem and she can't sort my contract out but will pass it onto some other team who will be in touch within 48 hours. Well they're time is up and i'm still on PAYG. She loaded 100 free minutes and 100 fee texts onto my phone and i even had a text confirming it and it shows on my online account but whenever I try to use the phone it tells me I have insufficient credit.
I'm really rather fed up with this now and am quite tempted just to sim unlock the thing and put my old Vodafone sim in it!

We've recently taken advantage of the blackberry £10 a month offer for exsisting customers and had nothing but problems. So much so Egg actually called my OH up because they thought somebody was trying to pull some sort of scam on his credit card.
Their customer services leave a lot to be desired and that's an understatement. We wanted to talk to someone in the UK rather than abroad as our issue was 'off script' and between the different accents (as we have a strong one) we weren't getting anywhere.
Hopefully sorted now but it took us a day at least with constant calls to get to the bottom off it.

Well I chucked my Vodafone sim in the phone and what do you know, it's not network locked so until they sort it out I'll carry on with that!0
