  • Decided to play dumb with amazon and ask if the 17.97 was a mis price

    i asked

i saw the price at 17.97 on friday and it is now 47.97, i dont really want to order it at 47.97 if the price is going down again and she replied with, that promotional price finished on friday

i then asked straight up if 17.97 was a misprice and she said no it was a promotional price

SO THIS ISNT A MIS PRICE IT WAS A PROMOTION - FACT

WOW! great stuff!!! Thanks for letting us know!! My heart was in my mouth earlier when i saw I had an email from amazon.. thought it was a cancellation email!! lol but was just to tell me about halloween toys or something!
One thing though... how long exactly was this boxset on 'promotion' for? a few hours? seems really odd to have a promotion as short as that!! Not that I am complaining as I was lucky to spot the post very shortly after the OP posted it and grabbed one quick... do you think it was an error but so they don't look silly they are saying it was a promotion so as not to lose face?
Well as long as i receive my set I don't care.. but just wondered!!!! lol

I subscribe to several 'bargain' forums, and on Friday, Disney DVD box set was on every single one of them - there must be thousands of people who managed to take advantage of this one.

    Thanks again OP. :T

    Why:confused:

Drawing a company's attention to a situation is considered bad karma by many.

In the past, companies have had dozens of phone calls and emails asking if they were going to honour a "misprice" after people bought them after seeing it listed on here.

Personally I'm not sure if it makes any difference.

I like to adopt the attitude - You Win Some / You Lose Some

I jsut find it funny when after one of these deals doesn't come off people threaten to sue or contact their MP or boycott the store.

It's probably best to sit it out and wait, you'll either get a parcel or an email one day.

its early days, i take what the c/s person said with a pitch of salt on this, could turn out to be a disaster like the ipod if too many people ordered. think about it, how many peeps got postive feedback on the nano's from c/s until the penny dropped. i be glad if this comes off like the next person. but dont hold your breath or take what the c/s agent said as the gospel truth. ps i am not trying to be a party pooper here. chazza

Whilst I am too long in the tooth to ever get too excited about misprices (or 'promtional prices', lol) coming off, I do think we would have had an email by now if they were going to cancel this? Having said that, they could still come out with the 'can't get any futher stock' excuse, I suppose. We'll see...

I still think this is a bargain - even at the increased price of £47.97 - Amazon link here

This is selling at Tesco for £116.99 (and that's with 10% off RRP) and at DVD.co.uk for £98.95 (and that's with 24% off RRP).

Amazon must have read this as the current price for this is £90.99. :T

Lets hope this does get delivered!!

 That's a daft price! Maybe they are trying to claw back some of the losses they incurred at £17.97? :D This is £49.99 delivered at Play (OK, not in stock at the moment)

Plus 2% Quidco, of course. STILL a great price!
