Tesco mobile don't pro rata first bill

Hi,

Can't see any mention of this when I searched. Just had my first bill in, and for the period 1/10/10 - 15/10/10 I have been charged full months subscription. Queried this with Tesco and they suggest it was because I changed my bill date when I first signed up. Don't remember seeing that they will not pro rata bills, and they have agreed to a good will gesture which matches 1/2 the monthly subscription. Not sure they will do that with more expensive tariffs so watch out when you sign up.

This is so true, we have taken out 5 different contracts out as the family's contracts run out at different time, and i noticed this on mine, when i logged into my brothers and my mum's tesco mobile account online i also noticed this was the case on theirs too, i called and they said i was wrong at first, i asked to speak to a manager and the bloke said he was right and i was wrong, when i spoke to a manager she (ruth) said yes i was right and that tesco don't do pro rota bills (which in my view) is completely wrong.

Just been caught out with this. I remember being given an option of a billing date but I don't remember any reference that this would cost me more !! I am usually so meticulous with these kind of things too.

They took the first payment upfront on my credit card for the first month but this only covered 12 days.

I have spoken to them and as a goodwill gesture they have refunded 2 weeks line rental but only on one of the contracts (I took 2 out for the family perks).

When I took out my DDs Tesco contract, if I remember correctly the data/text/minutes allowance from the first month didn't expire until the end of the second month, so it wasn't lost completely.

also final month your don't pay
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
