I'm allowing very little extra this year, probably not more than £30 including the extra joint but I've decided that Christmas is only 2 days, and will buy accordingly - a few small extras for the roast dinner, a nice dessert or the making of one, and a couple of little treats; I used to buy silly amounts of extras but I've realised that chocolate is actually available in the shops all year round
eta that my christmas is very simple, I live alone, and I wont be entertaining except for baking a sponge for visitors and have bought a christmas cake; I'm eating out on christmas eve, will cook a roast on christmas day and have leftovers on boxing day - turkey and stuffing sandwiches, my favourite... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

You'll have to scrub me from this months - with the house move & being ill I've completely lost track - naughty me!
£250 for December challenge - might be tight with my OH's alcohol spend though I HAVE to run the cupboards down as we've got less space now

A NSD today for us here.:T
I have made a meatloaf for tea and added lots of grated/chopped veg and some oats that it actually made two. So one we had for tea with two slices going down to mum and the other has been sliced and is now in the freezer for another day. Am defrosting the last of the malt loaf for a snack tomorrow but will have to think about making some more soon as we love it. May have to go for milk tomorrow but will check in the morning.
Hope everyone is doing well this month - 8 days left for us and doing ok.MARCH £62.38/2500 -

Total spend less than £20 and that includes p and p of £5.18. Will adjust siggy momentarilly. i dunno if red wine vinegar can be used in the same way as white vinegar but i hope so now i've about 8 x 2.5 litre bottles coming....49p per bottle i could hardly miss it could i. Should be alright for chutneys and cleaning and as a fabric softner shouldn't it? Or have i just made a very big boo-boo :-D
Most the time my recipes call for this... just can't remember which ones!
I do us a LOT of it for making Onion Chutney!
Which tastes amazing in Hummus!
If you can use it all.... see if someone would split the purchase with you.... like me!We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. Rosieben that sounds lovely. I was thinking a nice roast and an excuse to go to the very nice deli in town for some cheese - which is my weakness. I know my DAunt has got the family a tin of chocolates, so I wont need to get anymore. DM has made us the pudding and cake, which will be delicious. DH will probably want some sausages, bacon and maybe a pork pie.
I don't want to be Mr Mean but I dislike this make your self sick with food, drink and presents mentality. I want to spend time with those I care for so I am happy to entertain, but don't want to go OTT.0 -
:rotfl:Ha ha ha ha If I add the presents I've bought into my GC (which I really wanted to do) I have the princely sum of £3.70 to last me until the first - this gives me 46 pence per day :rotfl: Don't think I'll make it some how :rotfl:0

hi all havent posted for a while, totally lost track this month so im going to bow out for the rest of this month but will be back joining in Dec. Im going to go for £70 per week from now on which will be £280 every 4 weeks.
Can i be put down £280 for December pleaseI will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!0 -
... an excuse to go to the very nice deli in town for some cheese - which is my weakness. ...
I LOVE cheese too! I used to buy one of those expensive assortments but there was always one I didn't like so now I buy smaller pieces of several different sorts - edam, caerphilly, extra extra strong cheddar that has to be chained to the fridgeditto with biscuits for cheese, I buy just one or two packets of something I like and I know they won't be wasted.
to add to my comment above re how much I spend on christmas grocery, the big saving for me is that I don't buy alcohol as I don't drink and don't party, scary to think how much that cost me in the past!... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
