I got this mobile a few weeks back and have had issues with it so had it replaced yesterday. My phone numbers were as far as i was aware stored on my sim card and when i gave the driver my old phone back yesterday and turned the new one all my numbers have gone..they must be on the phone as opposed to the sim card but i have no idea how to get them back on this current phone..the driver is coming back later but does anyone know how i do this quite quickly as book that came with it is useless.?

Thanks. x

    1. How did you get the numbers from your "pre-Spiro" phone onto the original Spiro to get it to work? That's your starting point.

    2. If the numbers were only contained on the now-returned Spiro ( and I can't see how that happened from what you posted) - and you have no back up on your pre-Spiro phone/sim or on your PC or Ovi or similar (a) you are stuffed and (b) you made your own misfortune.

    3. Just check with the Spiro you now have - assuming you put the sim from the returned Spiro in the new one and check that you are using both phone and sim directories and not just the phone one.

Consider also what would happen if you lost your mobile with the numbers all in it. Where is your restorable back up? Got one? Then use that to restore your contacts on the current Spiro. Not got one? Then get yourself organised and keep a restorable back up on your PC. I am sure that SE have such software free.

    Hi thanks.
I had a LG cookie and all numbers were saved to my sim..i moved that sim to the spiro and all was fine..assumed yesterday that the numbers would still be on the sim but they are not so guessing they can only be on the old phone? I havent got my cookie anymore so not sure how i do this..grr..loads of numbers too so may have to start again.

Did you ever successfully use the old Spiro using your contacts that were on the LG? If so, they must have transferred somehow. And that would be via the sim as there was no other way.

If so, then they are still on the old sim.

Look at your contact settings and it will tell you which directory is in use. Make sure it is the sim or sim & phone .

If you have the numbers on an old out of use sim, you can still put that in the new phone and copy your contacts from that sim to the phone and at least you will have some of them.

But do look at keeping back ups of your numbers, appointments, pictures etc on your PC.

Thanks. It appears very basic tbh and the only bit relevant i can find is a bit to transfer to sim etc so will give that a go when it comes. I never save numbers to the phone for this reason so have no ideas why it has doen this with this phone but nevermind..im not too bothered about the numbers but obviously dont want them loose!!
