Extra CTC payment

Comments

  • I received my usual amount on my usual day - nothing extra.

jolou, if you are worried about an overpayment, I suggest that you put the extra into a savings account and leave it there until after your next annual review is finalised. If it is an overpayment, you will be able to pay it back (but hopefully will have accrued a small amount of interest in the meantime). You could also try ringing CTC to ask for an explanation.

I've recieved an extra payment today, it's only a fraction of my normal payment which is due on the 5th. I imagine a letter will be on it's way explaining what's going on.

I received one today, too. Only a fraction of what I'm due - but my "normal" payment is due on the 8th...hmmm....although it's welcomed, I also don't feel comfortable receiving it without an explanation.

I get the occasional early payment and have had double payments a couple of times- both times I have rung in and asked what they are for- the explanation was 'oh its money that you are owed'.

Maybe they are doing final reviews of some people's tax credit awards from 09/10?

  • I would give them a ring, they have probably just done some calculations and relised that they owe you some money, but its always best to check it out so that you dont get hit with a bill from them asking to pay it back!
Wish i had extra money, but sadly not :(

  • I had extra money aswell. I had a change of circumstances which i told them about last week, but they told me it wouldn't effect my payments.
Finally debt free, all thanks to this site and all the posters:j
  • Just a thought, have all of us who've had extra payments got kids that have gone into further education? I lost out on a payment at the beginning of september because of the change in circumstances. I wondered if it might be that??

I did ring the other day but got told their systems were down and i forgot to ring back to be honest.
