    Thanks for the support and advice people, I have touched base with Pay Plan and have an appointment with one of their advisors tonight to discuss the debt(s) and pave a way forward.

    I guess the moral of the story is even when you have a good income borrow like you are on minimum wage then if it all goes pete tong you will always know you will be able to service your debts in the event you have to climb back down the ladder.
    Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.

    Probably the wisest quote we will see today. Doubt if Gordon Brown would agree with you though.

    This is extremely unfortunate, especially after spending so much time building your credit rating back up. It could happen to anyone at any time and it's good to see you making attempts at resolving the situation by contacting Pay Plan and not sticking your head in the sand. You'll pull through it, just like you did previously.

    Update: Got my telephone appointment tonight with Pay Plan, I will post the out come later.
    Let my experience be a usefull tool for others that are in a similar situation, I will keep updating this thread over the course of my financial recovery.

  • Proliant - I hope everything works out for you okay.

    I'm sure this is just a blip. I remember about six years ago when I was made redundant and had to take another job that paid a lot less, plus it was a job that I really hated. It seemed like everything was going wrong. Everything that I'd worked for was slipping through my fingers and I appeared to have little or no control over it.

    Fast forward a few years and things improved after finding a different job and rearranging the finances.

    I'm sure there will be a point in the future where you can look back at this time and feel proud that you got through it and came out the other side.

    You've done a lot for other people on this thread and so now its your turn to get back some of the support you've given.

    Keep posting and good luck...

    Don't let the banks or Pay Plan tell you what you can afford to pay. You tell them what you'll be paying and not a penny more. The ball is in your court and if they don't want to accept £10/20 a month or whatever, that's their problem.

    Just a quick update;
    PayPlan setup, just waiting for my creditors to respond and hopefully agree the new terms.

    A very very wise quote :) I am sorry to hear you have having problems but most of us have been there and all i can say is that it does get better.

    None of us know what the future holds - I myself ended up getting into debt when my marriage failed (due to the fact i didnt like his girlfriend ;) )

    I am still at the bottom end of sub-prime still but every little step i gain on the ladder makes me happy. I am sure you will feel the same again, once all the stress passes :)
