Pleased that Martin is having a look at Customer satisfaction on this one. My neighbour recently took up their offer. You're forced to take their modem as they say they can't guarantee broadband will work without it. So neighbour shelled out for it and when it arrived it would only work intermittently. He contacted them and they told him to replace wiring in his house before they'd consider replacing the modem! This cost him a further £80. So he then phoned them back because it was still intermittent and the person he spoke to the second time told him he needn't have changed the wiring, all he had to do was take the modem to a Carphone Warehouse and they'd be able to test it free of charge for him! Unfortunately it means a 60 mile round trip now for him to take it to a Carphone Warehouse and that's on top of the £80 cost of re-wiring (which was the DIY cost). I was thinking of moving but now I'm not so sure ...

no way in a million years would I have replaced the wiring. If asking for a team leader does not get to anywhere and then ringing and emailing a few times to see if you can get though to someone who knows what they are talking about does not work then you just ring back a few hours later and say you have replaced the wiring. (lie!!)
I would suggest to my neighbour to get back on the phone. you have had it tested yourself and it's faulty.
