I was going to suggest that you changed your changed your name to her maiden name. Naughty but hey ho!0

Hi Caroline. God no! Once the decree absolute is issued I really want to forget everything I can about her. Impossible I know but keeping her maiden name might drive me to the funny farm lol0
-
Lol @ using her maiden name..
I still use my XH's surname.. we have children so it is the same as theirs.. however... I have a baby with my new OH and she could quite legitimately have had xh's name too had I wanted to and he could have done nothing about it.
I did consider it just because I hate him.. but decided it might a wee bit childish

My partners ex wife is suffering a bit of an identity crisis. Sometimes she uses his name and others her maiden name... think partly to !!!! me off ( her picture was in our local paper and obviously she made sure she used his name for the caption underneath) Says she hates it though and its cause kids have his name that she uses it?!! Wouldnt worry about it too much, just get on with your life and show her what shes missing

It isn't a bad surname.. alot of people comment that me keeping his surname means I am not over him or whatever. But to me I don't see it as "his" surname anymore.. I see it as mine and the kids.. if that makes sense? lol.
Of course its yours!
I hate this idea that women can never 'own' their surnames, they only ever borrow them from their father or husband.0 -
According to the film about Tina Turner's life story, she walked out of her marriage penniless. The only thing she said she wanted was her name.
IlonaI love skip diving.

Wish I'd married Tina Turner now

I recall that her Ex, Ike, wanted to insist she drop the surname 'Turner'. She was a successful recording artist using that name by then, and I think it went to court and she won the right to use the name!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

I do remember during my state of shock and annoyance when my x2b walked out asking my solicitor about stopping her from using my name. She said it could be done. I think it would cost a shed load. I researched it a bit and it's not common in this country. I suppose if you were famous it might be more important. On reflection though and I think someone here has mentioned you can call yourself whatever you want. It would be difficult to police being joe public. I suppose an exception would be calling yourself Ronald MacDonald. I imagine they might object! Anyway she has tho most ridiculous name now. I don't think she realises that it's a very simple anagram of rude action lol.0
