I think it is very unlikely. Many of us have made dreadful mistakes when we have got married, and sadly we have to live with the consequences.
Hope you get your life back on track. Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -

Following divorce a woman has the right to continue to use her ex-husband’s name. This remains the case even if he remarries.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
A person can call themselves whatever they wish as long as there is no intention to do so for illegal purposes. You could decide to call yourself Johnny Moonboots tomorrow if you wanted. It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window
Every worthwhile accomplishment, big or little, has its stages of drudgery and triumph; a beginning, a struggle and a victory. - Ghandi0 -
I very much doubt it. After all, it's just a name. There is nothing stopping her, me or some other stranger changing their name to whatever they wish. She could just argue that she likes the name regardless of it's attachment. You can't ban someone from using a name.0

It might be that the more you protest about it, the longer she'll hang on to her married name. Many divorced women go back to using their original surname and she may eventually do that.0

Do you want everyone with the same surname as you to change theirs to something else? If you're so angry about it...change yours to something else!!
Baby Bump born 4th March 2010! :kisses:0 -
She can call herself what she likes and there's so much hassle these days in changing names on bank details, passports etc etc she may not bother. After my divorce I kept my married name, mainly as it was the same as our sons - though I did use Ms rather than Mrs. Tbh I'm dreading all the faff when I re-marry next year and will change name then!0

Nope, she can call herself anything she likes as long as it is not to defraud.
I have no intention of changing my name when my divorce is final. Way too much hassle. One of my late Grandmother's friends who is like family to me has been divorced for as long as I can remember, but has never changed her name back - she doesn't have children which is the biggest reason I'd never consider it.0 -
I did change my name back when I divorced, that was my choice. However you can't force her she can call herself what she wants. as can you!Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

That would seem to be the best option. It would have to be something unique though. After all, any of your namesakes could potentially tarnish your good name.
There is an American bloke on death row for raping and killing a teenager who has exactly the same name as mine... first name and last name. So far it hasn't caused me any problems.0
