This television cannot be adjusted to give realistic skin tones, and has proved to be a disappointment. Since I made the mistake of ordering it by mail order, I now have to pay the postage and the cost of the insurance to return it under it's 30 day money back guarantee. I cannot recover these costs, so I will still be out of pocket. So the guarantee is not quite what it seems.

You have total protection under distance sellers regs and can inform them you will be returning within 7 working days of delivery, plenty of time to check the quality and you would not need to pay return postage (that's if you were not informed differently pre ordering, and its clear you were not).
If you were not informed of these dsr rights in writing then you should still have them for max 30 days, plus 7 days, however i'm sure it would be an effort to enforce.
The extra protection of 30 days return for a non faulty, yet used, item this seller has given you seems very generous.0 -
Thanks for that. I 'phoned QVC this afternoon to say I wasn't happy with the set, and they say they will arrange for it to be collected in the next seven days. It doesn't matter what picture option you choose, everyone looks like they are ill.
I will follow up with a letter tomorrow confirming what was agreed. There was no mention of any charges for the collection. 0
