I am one of the people who accepted Ezees offer to re-enstate my bb connection when E7even went down. As i rely on internet access, I didn't see an option. I have had very bad service from Ezee though and have complained about it several times.
I am now waiting to be connected to TT (?!?) and they are asking for my MAC number. After receiving numorous standard replies to my emails they are still saying that I have to pay up for my 12 month contract. I have pointed out to them that they are in breach of the contract by giving me constant poor service so why should I comply with by fulfilling a 12 month term. I have threatened Ofcom but they merely state that it is only a voluntary code and not enforceable.
Having seen on this & the Adsl forum that I am not alone, can anyone say if I have a leg to stand on? Is my only option just to pay up for the full 12 months & then terminate anyway
Any help gratefully received

it is mandatory for an ISP to give out a MAC i am afraid - and most ISPs seem to use it as a bargining chip in some way.... although Ofcom will be changing the rules soon, so they have to give it out, and for free0

Contact your local trading standards (probably based at your local county council).
I think that Mr J meant to say 'isn't mandatory'!
TS will listen to your complaint and you should tell them that you know that TS in their home authority (which I think is North Yorks) has already requested a meeting with them. Your local TS will then contact NYTS and hopefully try to sort yours out at the same time.
Good luck!

Check their T + Cs, you'll probably find in there it states they can't gurantee a service 24/7. I don't know what kind of problems you've had. Has a fault repoert ever been generated. You'll find unless a fault report is in process with BT and has been closed you won't really be able to do much!
The fault report has to be closed bt BT, with the fault either resolved, or BT statin BB cannot be placed on the line. Until then, I believe they are correct in sayin you need to buy out the contract, but it does vary from company to company, and also if they are part of the code0 -
Looks like I've no chance of getting my MAC from Ezee then - I only paid the first month and told them to stick their contract where monkeys stick their nuts. :rotfl:0

Prob fair to say that they won't be giving out MACs any time soon! I still feel I'm mid battle with them but on the plus side, I've now managed to sign up with someone else. On the downside, it looks like it's not part of TT!

sorry, i got carried away with my good news!!!

trading standards have met with them and ezeedsl will now be changing their ts and cs. some of you might want to revisit this issue if you want out. first contact ezeedsl and, if that does not work, contact your local trading standards and ask them to discuss it with west yorks trading standards (the home authority).
thanks to all those on here who encouraged me to stick with it! you can free yourselves of ezeedsl - don't give up!!!

I am also in dispute with ezeedsl. The line goes down frequently and even more to the point they do not support Apple Macs, so it is often hard to get reconnected. A disaster as I have a Mac. They do not answer emails, it is virtually impossible to get through to them on the phone. They have been taking £15.99 a month off my credit card (i only signed up for one month in july when e7even collapsed) but sent me an invoice this month. I don't know if that means they now expect me to by by cheque or cc or if they will contiune to debit my cc despite the invoice. I don't want my line to go down when the next installment is due on Nov 2. They refuse to give me a MAC code so I can move to another ISP, claim I am in a 12 month contract with them. They are a horrible company. Apart from anything else why does my credit card statement give the company name as WP-Internet Billing, and give their address as Liverpool when they are based in Leeds?
For wot it's worth eezeedsl are owned by a poker millionaire called Dominic Marrocco, see eg http://!!!!!!!.com/ym5y5u . I wrote to him with my complaints, no reply of course.Am now trying trading standards...0 -
That url should be http://!!!!!!!.com/ym5y5u0
