5.49% interest in mortgage thats shocking!!! You will definitely have that decreased by remortgage. Mine is 2.09% HSBC, hoping decrease that by next and also will have understairs bathroom installed by then.
Yes 100% see your account online. I used to but now have to phone every month and chip away that way, though now changing account to HSBC should hopefully see both onlineI do not know how this works tbh xx
Debt (1/9/14) £6,702.11 Debt free (30/11/2016) mortgage port- £70,077.82 and mortgage £126,517.39 o/s currently
Debt - £17,190.83 (29/7/22) now (19/8/22) £16,688.800 -
That is a really high interest rate - you're doing everything you can to be in a good position to bring that down. Fingers crossed for you.
I'd also like a mortgage provider where i can see it all online - i'm pretty sure my provider doesn't do that (and we have another 4 years on our mortgage deal) but we're unlikely to be able to make mortgage overpayments until about 5 years time given all the work we will be doing on the house.
We're still young though - plenty of time to get cracking with the overpayments. I want to be mortgage-free in my mid-40s if i can... we'll see.

I know my Apr is shocking but because of hubby's adverse credit we were very lucky to get a mortgage at all but now his credit is perfect.......good job he has me to keep an eye on it :j so we will be getting a much better rate in 16 months
I'll even start saving once buys credit cards are gone so we have some more money to chuck at it when it comes to renewing it
Transferred £8.01 towards the Xmas savings.:T so sitting at £556.83 / £800
