I'm glad he's OK! Vaccination reactions are fairly common and harmless.

As far as getting your animals vaccinated goes, well, I could rant on, but all I will say is that perhaps 20-30? years ago parvo was rife. Then the majority of pets got vaccinated and provided 'herd immunity' - we are now seeing a decrease in pets getting vaccinated, perhaps, perhaps not due to the internet, but parvo is on the up again.

Parvo is just one example, and probably the most prevelant. My pets are all vaccinated religiously.
I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

I asked the vet and she said adverse reactions are very common...!!!

I'll look into the titre testing next year for sure.

Hi Zaksmum - my dog had the same reaction as yours but was sick as well. I spoke to my vet and took him in the next morning although he seemed much brighter by then. Vet checked him over and advised me to keep an eye on him. Vet said reactions do sometimes happen so he reported it to the vaccine manufacturer who have offered to cover the cost of blood tests when his booster is next due to look at his immunity and see whether it's actually needed or not.

I'd advise you to do the same. Reactions need to be noted and in my case, the drug company are doing the responsible thing in covering costs for my boy's tests next year.
