Hi
I finally bought an xbox. When I go to video library it picks up my laptop but automtically goes to the videos folder on my C drive. How can I get it to point to a specific folder on an xternall hdd? Or alternatively can I transfer films from my hdd to the xbox external hdd?
Cheers

Well you can plug the EXTERNAL hard drive into the xbox and you can't transfer films from your hard drive onto your xbox's internal hard drive.:exclamatiTo the internet.. I need to complain about something!0 -
rather than mess around with file locations
i use PS3 media server http://ps3mediaserver.org/forum/
now you have far more codec support since it transcodes on the fly
you can select the specific location of the movie folders
so for me i have it showing only specific folders where movies are
no need to go clicking through levels to get to the films
obviously not for everyone but if you are playing from the network anyway its a no brainer0 -

download and install(it runs in Java) and you are pretty much good to go on the default settings
if the 360 see's the laptop then it should see PS3 media server on the same section0 -

Thats what I'm doing but I can't get the xbox to find it. It just goes straight to the default videos folder on my C drive rather than my F drive.I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.0 -

whats you TV/audio set up?
if you run a separate audio amp then there are tweaks you can make
same with quality depending on your laptops performance0 -
I haven't got surround sound yet but have a panasonic viera telly. It's about 3 years old now but does the job. We are moving next week so I wll be getting a new telly but will probably wait until the January sales.
