Tesco double the difference???

Do tesco still refund you double the difference or is it just in certain circumstances??

I was just charged for an item that i didnt have, they refunded me the overpricing, which is fine, but it was the cust service lady attitude that i have the problem with, when i asked her about the DTD policy she said...."you got your money back didnt you!"

I was only asking her a question!
Hopefully someone on here wont take offence to me asking ;)

Checkout ladies are horrible. Once I asked for some cashback when paying by card. She looked me up and down, pulled a face and said "I doubt it will let you". Cow.

I'm sure it wasn't you, shelly! But this one was a right old bag. Do you work in Morrisons? ;)

    The policy still states
    • that if you are in the unlikely event overcharged, apply at customer services where a refund of double the difference, over the amount you paid to what was on the shelf will be given back to...

Hi, Here is part of an email I had from Tesco earlier in the year, when I complained online that I was overcharged and the cashier who was very rude, would not accept it was double the difference back. I now carry a printout in my bag!

'The Tesco policy is that in the unlikely event that we overcharge you more than the price shown on the shelf or on the product, we'll give you double the difference. This would also be the case if for example, we accidently don't count the items probably. The staff in store should be aware of this policy and most certainly the manager so I'm very sorry that you had to argue this point with them. The refund should be automatic especially as it's us in the wrong in the first place.'

The cashier I doubt would be authorised to give you double the difference, hence why the policy states you apply to the customer services ;)

Thursday before last bought packaged meat at Tesco for £2.60 from reduced price counter, but when OH checked receipt back at home found we'd been charged twice. Rang Tesco who said to bring receipt into Customer Service next time we were in the store. Last Thursday before doing shopping in Tesco, went to CS handed over receipt and was asked if we had packaging so they could get barcode. Said no as weren't told we needed this. After several failed attempts to get relevant barcode, CS said to leave it with them and by the time we'd done the shopping they would have the problem sorted.

However OH determined to solve the problem herself, found a pack of the same sort as we'd bought the previous week. So I took the pack to CS who inputted barcode and I was refunded £5.20. So they definitely do still refund double.

Yes they scanned a reduced item at the reduced price and then at the full price.
So i only had one pack of mince but had paid 2 different prices for it!

There are some lovely Jamaican checkout ladies in my local tescos, they are always in a great mood and are very chatty, they brighten up your day. Shame Tescos are such shisters though
