Polo 1.4 - whats it worth

Hi Guys,

I am trying to sell my 1.4 Polo T reg 1999 with 75k+ miles on the clock and was wondering whats it worth now. It coming to the end of its MOT and tax now and is not in good condition with the body work. It has a slight dent on the bonnet due to some vandalism and the front bumper has a crack.

I realise I may not get much for it but just wanted to get a rough idea

I have no clue on how much second hand cars go for, but given the current climate i'd treat it as someone will buy it for between £300-400.. I'd pay no more as the economy is proper tight at the mo and plus chistmas is right around the corner

Good luck with the sale. Check Autotrader or the likes for rough estimates

.Does that mean we are all inbred

parkers.co.uk should be able to give you a rough idea, takes into account things like condition aswell
  • I was actually looking for a 1.4L and hence that price. Parkers doesnt go back upto 1999 the nearest I thought was only 2000 onwards

my mum sold an s reg 1.4 auto with 50,000 miles for £1200 the other day, small cars fetch a premium atm, especially auto's, cheap tax n fuel-luverly
  • I had an older car - Mitsubishi Spacewagon, with high mileage, body damage etc so i stuck it on Ebay with loads of pics to show damage etc and it sold for double what i thought i would get :T
my "body dinked/scraped bumpers but mechanically sound" Subaru also sold very fast on Ebay- i think there are people more interested in runarounds and projects on there..
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, its just possible you haven't grasped the situation ;)
  • Thanks 2nd_Time_Lucky, did you get a lot of responses on ebay by people wanting to come and view the car. Thats is something which is difficult for me as I am currently working out of town and dont find the time when I drive back home.

I was considering the "cars bought for cash" traders who buy bangers but dunno about ebay, do you get them on ebay as well.

It'll be worth more/easier to sell if you MoT it.
  • Think you're looking at around £200-£500.
