PC's been clobbered - where do I go for...?

Hi
We've just been clobbered by a series of Trojans, diallers, etc.
In particular, one item Yinstall.exe, might still be on.
We've got full Norton, but somehow everything got through and ran havoc on the PC.
There are now lots of niggling little problems with the PC (hanging, freezing, etc) and I'm not convinced that Norton got the lot.
Can anyone recommend a company to take the PC to for analysis/repair??
I was thinking of PC world, but I don't hear too much good about them.

The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.

Unfortunately, one of the niggles is that the PC will not boot into safe mode (or I'm doing something seriously wrong).
When we go in the PC stays at the black screen - "safe mode" in 4 corners of screen. The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0 -
I would get hold of an XP disk and do a full install.
If you want to work safely in the mean time, try an Ubuntu live disk (might also be worth switching to ubuntu to prevent these problems in the future)

My PC's a DELL, and they don't send an XP disc with them anymore. Can I take a copy - of XP - off the PC or will that be damaged/infected??The atmosphere is currently filled with hypocrisy so thick that it could be sliced, wrapped, and sold in supermarkets for a decent price and labeled, 'Wholegrain Left-Wing, Middle-Class, Politically-Correct Organic Hypocrisy'.0

download and run spybot search and destroy. It's free. It should get rid of a lot of the nasties you have
I found hijack this was only any good if you know what you are doing and deleting. Not very user friendly for a novice0 -

You should at the very least have a recovery CD from Dell with which you can reinstall from.
I would recommend a complete wipe of the drive and reinstall.
I'm not sure how Dell work these days - but you may find there is a recovery partition on your drive which you can restore from, however it is possible for this partition to also be infected.
Dell should be able to supply you with the media you require to re-install. If you know anyone else with a Dell machine that has an XP disk this should be fine - if possible make sure you get an XP SP2 disk.0 -
If you need a bootdisk look at this site and download the relevant one. You might be able to get into safemode and start.
