That's annoying about the tax. Your work really are numpties!

The NVQ - just do what you can - is it just a pass/fail thing? If so, scraping a pass isn't going to look any different than getting a really high mark.

Hope you feel better soon. Try and get some time to relax and look after yourself.

Hi jwil - the NVQ you have to pass but to pass you have to get full marks :undecided ??? Anyways i'm only aiming to the bare minimum of modules to pass - especially as its all in my own time

DDFW, You've done an amazing job this year. :T

So sorry to hear you are unwell all the time - this is rubbish - is there nothing that can be done to help you?

And how annoying that you are not getting support from work for the NVQ - have you spoken to your manager about it? As Jwil says, if a bare pass will do, aim for that.

Hope the dentist visit goes well, you are having a tough time at the moment.

Hi p&f, Aw thanks for your kind words hon :o i never feel like i get anywhere fast but i am hoping i can look over the past year and feel i've at least achieved something. this would be a big thing for me as this year has been a very difficult time for me for various reasons.

    Dentist is an ongoing process.

Docs = next appointment in about 2 weeks and it was a battle with the receptionist  so i can only imagine how it'll go when i ask to see a specialist instead. Yes i look well but i don't feel well - i can't even remember the last day i had or even piece of time i had in a day when i felt 100%. I pay my taxes and NI and only go to the docs when there is an issue so I am going to push for a referral :o

for the NVQ i've 2 workbooks to complete, several modules to complete and 6 exams. I'm going to try and just sit down in a weeks time and plough through at least 1 workbook so that can get ticked off ;)

As Peace and Freedom says, you have made a lot of progress this year and should be pleased with yourself :).

It is awful that your health problems are chronic because it is wearing physically and emotionally. I wish there was some way in which I could help.

Dare I ask, how long does it take to get an NVQ?

On a lighter note, you asked how much my socks went for on Ebay and the answer is £25 :D. I have received £125 MS money so my total is £359 this month which I am really pleased with. December is not looking so good because I haven't done many MS recently and I have ground to a halt on Ebay because I can't think of what to sell. I thought I was scraping the barrel selling a pair of socks, but how wrong I was!

    Take care

Well Done on exceeding target Chocs :T i really want to do the challenge next month but i am literally out of things to sell and am struggling to think of money making ideas :o I've sold socks on the bay of e before now and got a good price for them too :D

Thank you for your well wishes everyone - the thing is i don't look ill so everyone just can't / see understand how absolutely exhausted i am. I have had trouble sleeping these last few weeks as well which is something which needs to be nipped in the bud.

Just because you don't look ill doesn't, as you say, mean you feel well. At the extreme end of the spectrum, many people with cancer look well (until they start treatment and suffer with the side effects) but it doesn't mean they are OK.

My health isn't great. I find that people who remark that I look well are just not used to feeling ill themselves unless they have a cold or something that is obvious to see. It is frustrating when people make unhelpful remarks or imply that everything is OK when it definitely isn't and I'm tired or in a bad mood from feeling ill. I think it is one of those things it is best to try to ignore or I thank people for saying that I'm looking well and leave it at that!

Hope you have a reasonably restful weekend. I haven't looked at your to do list but no doubt there are a few things scheduled for the weekend!

  • Hi All, I'm back :D Sorry i fell off the radar a bit there :o

Where am i up to ?

I sold a few bits on the bay of e last week - after fees i've netted myself about £28 which is good - especially as everything was re-lists :T I re-listed this weekend too but just popped stuff on for a few days and lowered a few prices - its all stuff thats been on there ages now and will all be going to le carbooty at some point next year with a price tag of a £1 - i just want the space (and of course the money! ;) Now!)

Still got 4 outstanding cases of non payers

Sold another book and saw i had £5 available in that account so requested the withdrawal.

Redeemed for a £5 gift voucher from a site too - its closed now and £5 was the lowest amount and this is for clothes shops - sadly i couldn't get an amazon voucher as i didn't have enough to redeem :o but pleased i could get the £5 and this will come soon i hope :)

Also did another survey which took me to redeem level - i'd rather get amaz*n vouchers though but they are out of stock bah! :rotfl: so will need to remember to check and redeem for this when i can.

Screened out of several other surveys though ho hum!

I wanted to say thank you to you jwil as you spurred me on to di the surveys and get to cashout :) I've included this on one of my targets for next year too :)

  • Woo! just got notified of another survey payment £3 received and now requested to transfer into bank account :)

I need to start thinking of what i want to achieve before the end of the year and also carry on planning the things i want to achieve next year - as it'll be a better year right ? :D

There are some basic money saving things i need to put in place:-

stop spending money :o Sounds obvious doesn't it ? But i get so demotivated at work i go out for a bit of a pick me up and spend money needlessly - little treats a £1 piece of jewellery here or there, buying some new clothes in the sale that are needed but still its a spend and i could just leave it :o buying lunch at £3-£4 a time when some forward planning would cover this.

But i really need a trigger to make me stop spending :o So:~ i'm thinking i need a little incentive - what i'm thinking is:~

Jewellery - instead of the small £1/£2 spend on the costume jewellery (which i do wear and do love btw) i could move this money over to a savings pot! Mr teddy bear savings pot may be being used again!! I've had him for years :) And then this can build up eventually to enough money to buy a nice piece of real jewellery of which i have only 1 or 2 pieces of gold so that will be really nice and a lovely feeling to save up properly and go and treat myself :)

Clothing is a huge issue - a combination of loving lovely things and wanting to keep up with lovely items and trends. i also have a low self esteem and its these 2 factors which are problematic. There are 3 ways i can overcome this:-

1, as soon as my wages are in transfer the money to the relevant places so - money into bills, money for transport costs (essential) and I NEED to come up with a savings plan so anything spare will be moved to this straight away = leaving no more spare money to buy anything with ;) + keep away from the shops - plan to do something else in my lunch hour that will keep me busy and away from the shops ;) Exercising will help hugely with my self-esteem so i have a littke plan in place for this too :)

I also have a fully stocked freezer (perhaps a little overfull :o) but i need to get a few more bits in to complete 1 or 2 special meals in over xmas :) So i need to plan my time better and use the stuff in the freezer and get back to meal planning as that was so much easier and really helped with the shopping budget too. So again money saving.

I've got another part of an xmas present this week and will have to look to get the rest very soon!!! Struggling with what to get 1 person though...

Savings: - already mentioned above - i need to choose the savings vehicle(s) i want to use and put all my effort into raising the money i want to save up! Another priority is moving house - i need to get alot of work done on this house and need to reduce the mortgage dramatically.

Another goal is looking for a new job - i am going to regularly check the site of the company i want to work for and ensure i complete the application form early and submit this for each reasonable job which comes up (reasonable as in not 3months temp contract or a specialist job i have no skills for).

  • Great to have you back :)

Those lists always set me off thinking about what I could be doing with my time and money.

Next year will be a good year. And you will be debt free!

Glad you've managed to get cashing out on the surveys - it always seems so much better then :D

    Good luck with the plans!

I'm guilty of lunch buying as well. It costs a fortune. I suppose that's one saving I'll make on ML but I should stop doing it now.
