Hi All,
I am trying to not get stressed over all the things i have to do and the limited time i have to do them in
NVQ is proving a huge drain *pickle* where were you when i was signing up?Actually i am doing myself an injustice there - i was supposed to be doing some in my own time and some in work time - turns out its all in my own time  Now i just want to get it out of the way
i know i signed up to it to help me get a better job ( a few places i've applied to don't recognise any quals other than NVQ which affects the paygrade i'd start on if ever i was successful quite significantly and probably affects chances of getting taken on too). The person fromthe nvq was trying to get me to sign up to extra stuff as well though! Aaaargghh! I've stressed how busy i am and i'm doing a degree so they said well when you finish 1 part we'll pop more down for you then - methinks not!
I've also ALOT to organise before we go away and need some essential bits for the holiday which i *have* to pick up today - will be running to the station shortly so i can try and get all of this done before work  i am armed with a list! Got my new glasses - knew i needed them *sniff* so a big financial drain there but as a false economy i didn't get the cleaning spraySpent so much on the specs i didn't want to spend any more but obviously it is needed so need to get that - silly me!
I also need to sort out what we're going to do on hols - got a couple of ideas jotted down but haven't done nearly enough research but hope to progress on this today as well *fingers crossed*
I also need to sort out what i am taking so i know i have everything i need - after my declutter i have become aware that i have 1 long sleeved jumper!! Did i forget that i live in the cold and wet englandshire ? :rotfl: i actually didn't get rid of any jumpers that i'd wear just haven't spent any money on any this last year or so. Today i have my vouchers and hope to get 1 more jumper to keep me toasty
I've had to chase up 2 orders which didn't come - 1 for me (for kindle) 1 for my Mr still awaiting replies
I need to make progress on my next assignment for my degree *huge priority*
AND
I *must* at least make a start on my tax return - last date its due in is end jan so doesn't seem urgent but i kinda need to know what the bills gonna be before then - think it'll be circa £500:(:( - over 2/3rds of what i earned! But thats what it was last year
Right time to dash off, start getting things done and crossed off my list and we'll see where i am up to laterCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Good luck with the list! Annoying about the docs though.
Why is the tax return so high? It might be a daft questionbut surely it shouldn't be more than 20% of what you earnt?

I was wondering that too. Even if you have used up all your allowances through PAYE, I would expect you to be paying no more than your highest rate of tax, i.e. 20% or 40% on any other income. I suppose there might be NIC if you haven't got an exemption.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Hi Guys,
I think the hefty bill was due to being told i'd not paid enough tax at workThink is due to the odd way they pay us sometimes - i did have the option to spread the payments out via tax deducted at work but was like 'nooooo' can't have even less coming in than i have now
Have done very little towards my list - have been ill every night and weekend for the last few weeks and was in real pain for most of yesterday ended up finally getting to sleep around 3ish which has been typical of lateDecided i can only do what i can do. I'll tell NVQ person i've done what i can for now - which is true and aim to get one of the workbooks fully completed in december as well as book in for a mock exam to get it out of the way.
Forgot that tomorrow is the 2nd round of treatment at the dentist - 3rd week of going as week 1 was check up - i am not looking forward to it and i'll need to pay too  I also have to do an MS after this so really hope i can actually talk with all the injections i'll needI also forgot that i need my travel sick tablets so another errand to run before work today
i also lost the chance to do any study / hols planning on the train as even though loads of people get on at this time of year to do xmas shopping they still send only 2 carriages  so i was stood up all the way into work yesterday - not great when you're already feeling super exhausted
Sorry for being a grumble, i am just feeling hugely stressed today and as i've already said if i'd known i'd have no support from work for the NVQ i don't think i'd have bothered because i know i just don't have the time. I'm also short of money but paid the overpayment to the mortgage which means i can finally update my sig :T
Challenge for december - stop spendingended up in primarni and got several bargainous items priced £2-£5 - including some leggings very similar to ones i've wanted for ages that are £28 :T

That's annoying about the tax. Your work really are numpties!
The NVQ - just do what you can - is it just a pass/fail thing? If so, scraping a pass isn't going to look any different than getting a really high mark.
Hope you feel better soon. Try and get some time to relax and look after yourself."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

DDFW, You've done an amazing job this year. :T
So sorry to hear you are unwell all the time - this is rubbish - is there nothing that can be done to help you?
And how annoying that you are not getting support from work for the NVQ - have you spoken to your manager about it? As Jwil says, if a bare pass will do, aim for that.
Hope the dentist visit goes well, you are having a tough time at the moment.0 -
As Peace and Freedom says, you have made a lot of progress this year and should be pleased with yourself
.
It is awful that your health problems are chronic because it is wearing physically and emotionally. I wish there was some way in which I could help.
Dare I ask, how long does it take to get an NVQ?
On a lighter note, you asked how much my socks went for on Ebay and the answer is £25. I have received £125 MS money so my total is £359 this month which I am really pleased with. December is not looking so good because I haven't done many MS recently and I have ground to a halt on Ebay because I can't think of what to sell. I thought I was scraping the barrel selling a pair of socks, but how wrong I was!

Well done on the sales and the total this month chocs - I completely lost count. That's a great price for the socks though!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
