Have always really struggled trying to get popular tickets, even when trying from the minute that they go on sale. Does anyone have any hints or tips? Is it easier online (sites always crash for me!) or is it better to try and get through on the phone? I am dreading it!!!!!
Best advice i can give is go online and be persistant. get on 5 minutes before they go on sale and get seetickets, ticketmaster, ticketline and stargreen open ready in different windows and then at 8/9 when it comes on sale just go for it, on seetickets if you can avoid closing the window you get to do and instead of normal clicking you should open it in a new tab/window that way if it's dead you wont waste precious time trying to get back to where you were on a dead server, instead you'll always be trying to get the next page in the sequence. It's also worth checking forums related to it as sometimes one of the first people to get through will post a link to the order page to save you going through the select a gig pages. Always works well for me and I've got some great tickets in the past using this technique :money:0 -

thanks for this :T I was considering queueing at the Stadium of Light but by all accounts there is already a fair sized queue so I think I'll give that one a miss, I have no idea how many tickets they have available on the door but I would be gutted if I missed out due to being too far back in the queue.Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -
I'd also create your account on ticketmaster, ticketline, see tickets, etc. ahead of time so when you are in a rush to check out you don't have to go through entering all your details apart from your credit card number. Otherwise if you try and create an account when you are ordering you have only a few min. to do so before you lose the tickets. You might also want to keep an eye on www.thewonderwall.com. While there doesn't seem to be any presales I've had good luck with them in getting presale tickets in the past. If you search for Take That all the dates are currently coming up with links to see tickets. Sometimes these links go live ahead of time like a day or so ahead but if you just go to the web page without the links it looks like they aren't on sale. It's a great site to hold onto even if it doesn't help with the Take That tickets.0

Thanks for all the advice above - is it gonna be better to try and get them online or over the phone? I won't be able to do both as, as soon as i pick my landline up it drops my internet connection out :-(A home is not a home ..... without a dog0

Have just been reading through the thread, do we know yet if it is 8am or 9am?
I am desperate to see take that and am going into work early to try and get tickets but don't want to try at 9am for them all to be sold out!0 -

go online you have a much higher chance, thousands are sold online and the servers can take thousands where as they dont have anywhere near that level of phone lines. I'd say see are your best bets though, their servers may fail but this can work to your advantage if you open enough windows you'll find a time it's working. If it sticks you in a queue close the tab and start again from the previous page you should still have open as it's faster than their 20 second refresh page. A tip on tabs, click your mousewheel on links, you can open a lot in seconds and then middle click each unsuccessful one to close them without ever seeing them
One small tip though to shave some time off for see tickets is to pre type the main details in a word document so copy and pasting is easy, it's not uncommon on events like this for you to enter everything and then it not go through because the server has died again so be prepared to potentially re-enter these a number of times. If more than one does go through see will allow you to cancel additional orders.
Also because of this regular problem when it says sold out it isn't always actually sold out, keep cheking back if you aren't lucky as often a few extra tickets sneak out here and there from failed payments or duplicate orders, often we get our friends reading tickets 2 or 3 days after its "sold out" because they are still cancelling mistakes.0 -
