:eek:hello, hope someone can give me some much needed advice.
I have recieved a letter today from a company called Ruthbridge limited. Its not addressed to me, just to the Occupier.
It just asks me to phone a freephone number/quoting a reference number and does'nt say what this company wants. Ive now googled it and it appears that it is a rather unscrupulous debt collection agency.
I don't have any outstanding debts, never have done . my credit reference should be clear and I don't owe anyone anything.Neither does my husband. what should I do?
We do live next door to some flats and over the last six months or so have recieved unwanted mail for other people, one man inparticular. Each time I put the letters back in the post and returned to sender saying -not known at this address. Ive got a feeling this could be the person they are looking for. what should I do?

missindecisive, the fact that it's addressed to 'The Occupier' tells you all you need to know. It's a speculative letter hoping to frighten someone into paying some money, undoubtedly for a debt they don't even have. Even if it is a legitimate letter trying to find an owner, it's hardly your responsibility to find a home for it. Bin it."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0
