Replacement roof aerial
We just got a Skoda fabia, it goes in the garage, but the roof aerial hits the garage door as we reverse in. OH solution is to remove the aerial, but I'm too short to reach to screw it back in when I drive the car. I was wondering if these bee-sting aerials I've seen online actually are as good as the original, and if so can someone recommend where I can get a decent one. I live in rural Wales, with not much choice of stores to check out, so I guess online may be the best bet. Many thanks.

Sneaked a peak as well

OP, is the roof ariel fixed? Usually you can adjust the angle it sits at?
The bee sting ariels are fine for those that live in civilisation, however I fear that many parts of rural wales will struggle to get a decent reception using them.

Thanks for that, Wealdroam, I sneaked a peek too :rotfl:, but I've already looked there. I was hoping someone might be able to give a personal view of the effectiveness of them before I actually ordered one. The aerial seems to be fixed at a certain angle, too high for our door, but I'll try to see if it will angle down. You may be right about signal strength Kwaks, although I used to get decent reception from the aerial in our old car, which was angled down so much it actually lay along the roof. Perhaps I'll try Halfords when next I'm in our nearest town, they might let me try one before purchase. Many thanks for your replies everyone.0

Here we go http://briskoda.net/forums/topic/158563-new-aerial-fitted/ Part number is 6561.N3 Price £4.60 available at Citroen and probably Peugeot dealers, or here is a lazy doormat alternative http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-CITROEN-PEUGEOT-SHORT-ROOF-AERIAL_W0QQitemZ270529482123QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item3efcd04d8b It's the aerial I currently use, and compared with the old long one reception isn't too bad, it's perfect in good reception areas like cities, but flaky elsewhere.
Here it is on the car

You seem to parked a bit close to the unmarked crossroads there

I use the same aerial as above no problem with reception either.0

Thank you anewman, I've had a look at your links, looks good. I'm going to have a good look on Ebay, it's not too much to lose if it doesn't work too well, and I can always refix the original if I'm going longer distances.0

I had the same problem with my car aerial/garage so I replaced mine with this Ripspeed aerial, fine now.
