I have blackrock (D) at 35.23% over 5 year compared to HSBC (retail) at 32.34%, HSBC (class A) at 34.10% and HSBC (institutional) at 35.58%.

So, anyone considering which platform to use needs to look at what versions of the funds are on offer with that platform
H-L offer the HSBC institutional which slightly pips both the Blackrock fund classes.

But I gather HSBC reduced the AMC on the retail version anyway so that both I and R classes are now at 0.25% and so, whereas the historical figures are therefore different, going forward they should be similar. Anyone with an older R class fund should now get the same return as the I class funds. A bit like the L&G tracker funds which still list higher priced versions that pay the full 0.5% trail commission, and consequently have lower returns, but would not normally be bought.
