Why did the buyer not just call the seller after the first letter from them to come and collect the left over items? I am saying this because in these austere times such petty squabbles only make us poorer whiles enriching the lawyers.:doh:[/FONT]0

In the previous part of this thread, it was suggested that you ask your solicitor to clarify the position regarding the fixtures and fittings form - and then investigate which solicitor, if any, made an error.
Did you follow that up at the time? What was the outcome?
Your solicitor is correct in their response - you instructed them to do your conveyancing, they are not on general retainer in case anything crops up.

Shelly they have to be joking, if you didn't agree to buy the items they left and it wasn't by prior arranged with you, this would have been a private agreement between you and them. We purchased some item's when we moved in and the cheque was just handed over on the day the solicitor was not involved.Why pay full price when you may get it YS
