I take it this is business property insurance or consequential loss, educating?

I'm certainly not aware of any domestic insurer which asks for personal credit information on an application. The questions about convictions are standard for every company I've ever used and I recently had a client who'd been convicted of theft and fraud. The fine he received determined the conviction became spent after five years.

    Hi Kingstreet

Yes it was a whole Hotel Package for a guest house with 7 letting rooms, buildings and contents, you would think with the small business person in mind, but it appears not, I cannot believe the problems I have had! They spent a whole year arguing about the floors being dug up, then 3 independent surveyors opinions later, they agreed, another year gone & the work still ongoing & every aspect under dispute! I am now 3 years in, my BI only ran for 2 years, not that they've agreed to pay it anyway, so everyday shut is a loss to me.

They won't pay the alternative accommodation, even though I had to move out due to the extent of the work, ie, whole basement being dug up, rewiring, plumbing, new damp proofing, boiler etc, nasty chemicals and no services meant we couldn't stay!

Bleeping nightmare, worst three years of my life!

    EM :(
