I'm Looking to Buy Non-see thru' Black Leggings?

  • i've looked at Sainsbury's and Mark's and found both of these were see-thru/thin so i'll move onto American Apparel Sweaty Betty and New Look on another day. Aren't 'treggings' the ones that usually with denim-look ones with the nasty coloured stitching in denim blue and denim grey colours? if so, these are definitely not for me!:o sorry, but i'm after the old-style all-black leggings that are properly well-made and with a good lycra content, with a comfy waistband. im sure some girls may not mind the ones that are see-thru' and so it wouldn't matter if you were wearing a long top or dress to wear over them so that the knickers aren't showing through or bum-sag for that matter, but i'm after the ones that were easily bought only a few yrs ago, so it seems so very strange the manufacturers aren't putting in the quality in like they used to..

Hi, the ones you are on about are jeggings i think, treggings are like leggins but a lot thicker, also considerably more expensive!
  • thanks for the clarification alizee, i didn't know there was treggings about. these could be what i'm looking for!! i don't mind if they're expensive, i'd be happy to pay £30 (yes, i am desperate!!) for some as i love the ones i got 2/3 yrs ago and they're falling apart now (tho' i think they were about a tenner at the time).

some of them look like jeggings but check out the black ones at £9.99

if you zoom in they seem like the have a good waistband and not see through! might be worth checking them out if you have an H&M nearby

I have several pairs of leggings from Marks and Spencers - their Indigo range. I think these are really good and in varying lengths too

Yes- sorry- it was jeggings rather then treggings! I know what I mean but never get it out right! Would be easier if they just were called tight black trousers like they should be lol!
  • dogstar, had same problem as you with most leggings being miles too thin and being able to see your skin through them  I have bought my latest pair from British Home Stores (BHS) for £10 and they look a lot more opaque than any I've had before.

I just wish people would ask a friend " can you see through these?", some of the sights I've seen don't bear thinking about......... hope this thread makes people realise that you can see 'everything', through some leggings...

yes, :rotfl: i totally agree with you there. to the posters who've recommended mark's, sainsbury's, DP, New Look, Topshop leggings et al, please can you check that they're thick enough where you can't see your hand thru' the material and/or ask your friends to give you a second opinion and check if they're definitely NON-SEE THROUGH???:cool: i'd be most grateful... thanks

Be sure not to miss out on any other bargains while you're on your epic legging hunt! I usually find that once i'm no longer looking for something (that seems impossible to find!), its in every shop i go in!!!
Good luck on your search though :) xxxx
