I'm Looking to Buy Non-see thru' Black Leggings?

Where am I suppose to find these? I remember years ago they used to be proper ones that were a nice jersey, stretch material with a good comfortable waistband. Nowadays with them being the rage again, they're not the same kind anymore but these very thin material that sag v easily in the bum area and the knees. also, bobble quickly too. i've looked in TKMAXX but all i seem to find are 'yoga' or gym trousers that are bootcut or wide... can anyone help me find a shop that does the 'old-fashioned' sort that i can wear out without anyone seeing my knickers and that they're of a good, stretchy material that doesn't bobble or sag too?

many, many thanks. i'd be eternally grateful if anyone can come up with a place that sells such elusive things!

  • yes asda ones are great also ive gor from dorothy perkins and new look without a problem no sagging or seethrough avoid next because they are rubbish lol
  • I shall have a look at those two places desired opal and emmyb. Do they have a decent waistband on them too, as I find the cheap ones don't stay up as well as the old pair I have (mine are years old and are beginning to rip in the inside seam!)?

Hi! i have a few pairs of leggings. The ones i have from peacocks are really thin and they don't stretch very well ( i have big calves) but the ones i have from M&S are very comfy, opaque and have a good waistband. i did buy them a while ago in the sale ( £2 i think i paid for them!). i also have a pair from primark but they are the "control leggings" and i only wear them with dresses - not very comfy!!

Yep they stay up without being to restrictive and they're really comfortable too, you can get them with or without that stirrup type bit at the bottom xxxx

well, i've looked at asda's full clothing range and at DP (not New Look tho') and found none that are thick enough for that opaque-look that I'm looking for. Although in the girl's section at Asda were ones that were edged with black sequins seemed the right opaqueness but I didn't think the 14-16yo size would fit my size 12 waist and thighs!:p

can you have a look at your pair/s and let me know if you can definitely not see thru' them as when I've tried with putting my hand behind the fabric, I could see thru' it:o

alizee I'll check out Marks' range sometime this week and shall let you all know the verdict!;)

Look for black 'treggins' rather then leggings. Leggings are hard to get non-transparent and sag in areas you'd prefer not to sag (iyswim!) I'd say Gap, SweatyBetty and anything belted seems to retain the shape around the bottom (where most seem to sag) Topshop, M&S, Dorothy Perkins, Primark and etc don't last for more then 3-4 hours without sagging IME.

Hello! mine definately aren't see through (learned that lesson with a more expensive pair!) and they don't go baggy after wearing them for an hour like some do! But they don't have any sort of detail on them, just plain black. They're the g21 range and i bought them sometime last month... I hope they haven't stopped doing them as i wanted a couple more pairs! I didn't get mine online, i got them from a George shop... NEXT to an Asda as opposed to inside it. hth xxx

I got mines from TU at Sainsbury's a couple of months ago now and they are by far the best pair ever had; so comfy and do not sag! I've wore them loads and they haven't gone bobbly or anything either; good as new. Not see through at all either. Got some from Matalan at the weekend which although comfy; were pretty seethrough!

I had the same problem. American Apparel have good quality leggings that are not see through and don't bobble. I've had mine for a while and they are still fine. Hope that helps :o
