Does my gas usage sound about right?

the £90 a month that your paying is 1/4 of their income...
I am a pensioner and £90 a month isn't a quarter of my income.
If any pensioner is only getting that then they are not claiming all the benefit they are entitled to.
First thing I did when I retired was contact DWP to see what benefits I was entitled to after working and paying tax and NI for 49 years.
I would rather spend the money to be warm, comfortable and happy than sit in a cold house being cold and miserable.
My house is well insulated, the heating is switched on but that doesn't mean that I am burning gas for 16 hours a day, there are such things as thermostats.0 -
In a 3 bed Semi we pay £25/month for gas and £20/month for electricity. We did however get a £140 rebate for the gas. The house is always warm and I am guilty of taking long hot showers. I put the low cost down to high insulation levels, good double glazing and an efficient boiler. There is the initial outlay for this stuff but it is definitely a case of spending to save! Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
