Easyjet Boarding Queue 2?

Can anyone tell me what this means please?

Myself, husband & 1 year old are travellling with Easyjet at Christmas. I have just gone online to print our boarding passes (eager I know!) & they are printed with "BOARDING QUEUE 2". I was under the impression that those travelling with children got priority boarding (after the Speedy Boarders), but from what I can make out from some googling, "2" is the last lot of passengers to board. Is that because i've printed them online? If I check in at the airport instead will we get a higher priority, or will we just be given the higher priority at the gate anyway?

  • We board you in the following groups:

Boarding Group 1 - Speedy Boarding passengers, easyJetPlus cardholders
Boarding Group 2 - all remaining passengers

In Boarding Group 2 passengers needing special assistance, elderly passengers, up to two adult passengers travelling with a child aged 5 or under and other members of their party up to the age of 13 will be boarded first.

In this hierarchy a 6 year old without younger siblings is inferior to a 13 year old with a sibling under 5, and a fighting fit 60 something takes precedence over a middle aged person with back ache. I pity the poor check-in staff having to make age and sibling assessments while also keeping an eye on the dimensions of luggage.
