The point I was trying to make was that someone who was "frustrated at the lack of channels when we went back to our old sky box", maybe disappointed with what little extra channels her £25 card will provide.

Any old blue Sky card will regionalise the box and if you are lucky Five and ITV1 will be the FTA versions and not the encrypted FTV ones that require a valid "white" card. I only mentioned the regionalisation of all five channels for information of anyone else reading this thread. Without any card in the box it will default to BBC1 London, BBC2 England, ITV1 West Midlands and Channel 4 London without Five on the EPG.
