Just had a quick look at the different lots of avon bottles.

The one at £3,450 has approx 180 bottles.

The one at £7,000 has approx 177 bottles, so must be a better class of bottle.

Then the one at £22,000 has approx 180 bottles again. Wow, they must be the really good ones.

My local auction house had a collection for sale and could get no bids...hmm, wonder if they will auction them again next month!

'We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time
  • But fancy buying 3 "NEW TOMMY HILFIGER SUPERKING BED SPREAD FROM HARRODS" and not using them.
I would have learnt after i brought the first one :rotfl:
  • This has certainly been an eye opener. Who'd have thought you could buy a bedspread for £1,200, and why on earth would you?

My God those Avon bottles are the memories of every crappy Christmas/Birthday gift I received between the ages of 8 and 17. I wouldn't mind but I can't think of a single scent that didn't induce a blinding headache.

Oh yes, there was something 'special' about some of the scents wasn't there. They used to do a face cream, very very highly perfumed and my mother swore it gave her a migraine so I used to use it. It spread and smelt like a very sweet mayonnaise, oh, those were the days!

For a short time about 10 years ago though early Avon bottles were going for lots of money, really serious money, but it looks like the collectors have all gone now.

My all time favourite (and I use that word dripping in sarcasm) was the small glass clock that contained a whole 50ml of that nauseous, room clearing Avon favourite, Timeless. I think I had 2 or 3 bottles bought for me over the years.
