Cordless phone recommendation

Options
Hi,

Anyone recommend a good looking, black cordless phone which has good reception between £10-£50. It also needs to have a caller Id so we can see who is calling.

Did see this one but think most people say the reception is bad, http://www.cordless-phones.uk.com/cordless-phones/cordlessphones-answering-machine/philips-cd1551-dect-phone

Thanks,
C

Worth looking at the Panasonic DECT phones. I've had one for several years and have been very pleased with it. Only looking at replacing it now because some of the buttons are worn out. Its caller ID works on my cable line, the answering machine is great and has remote access, the handsfree operation is really good too.

If you are buying a single handset, but think that you might want to use an additional handset at some time,
[useful to have one upstairs and one downstairs and use as intercoms]
then make sure the single is GAP (generic access profile i.e. can be used in conjunction with any other GAP handset)

Thanks for the heads up. The phone above is indeed GAP compatible. Never new what that was. :)

Getting a wee bit fastidious now, but would anyone have the KX-TG 8421 and if so, what size is the adapter. It's just that the plug socket is behind our sofa and the sofa would have to be moved out to allow it to be pluuged in.

The plug for the electricty supply is USUALLY about the same size as a conventional plug sometimes slightly larger

  • Does anyone know of any cordless phones that don't need batteries for (that you just recharge from the base unit)?

I thought they were all like that? i.e they have rechargeable batteries that are charged from the base unit.

Most I've found say they require 2 AA batteries.
