The things grandchildren say!

Options
My DD told me about her daughter aged nearly 6. She was being disobedient at school and for the third time in a week she and her friends did not stop playing when the whistle blew at the end of playtime.
Teacher said, "That's the third time; I shall have to talk to mummy or daddy about this."
Unashamed, the girl replied " If it's any help, I can tell you which one will be picking me up tonight" .
Obviously no recognition of the seriousness of her disobedience, just a practical reply.
But I had to laugh: it reminded me so much of her mother as a child.

    When my DD and DSiL were looking for a new house they visited several one weekend, taking DGD1 who was then 5 years old. On the Sunday they sat down to discuss what they'd seen and DGD piped up 'I like the one with the cemetry at the back'. It took them a few moments to realise she meant conservatory! The've now been living in the house with the cemetry of 14 years :D

    When we went to the Crematorium after my Mum had died, my niece (4) said;
    "Is this Nannys heaven"

  • my little boy told me that god lived in the church over the road and that he'd met him loads of times, all sorts went through my mind until I realised he thought the priest was god.

  • My daughter is a little older than the others she is 9, today on our way to school we were discussing an upcoming concert we are going to (JLS) she was telling me that she didn't really like to be at anything which went on for over an hour. I said but how ever will you manage the concert.

    Very seriously she put her hand on my shoulder and said "Don't worry Mum I will dig deep"!!!
