The problem is that we are all racist, me especially.

I believe that everyone should be treated equality whatever the sex,colour of skin, race they are.

Which in the eyes on the law, makes me a racist, as I dont believe in positive discrimination.

I must admit I have noticed a marked decline in racist posts here lately, so I'm not sure what Hamish is on about. Nothing new there I suppose.

Err, no.

An immigrant (or family of immigrants) could be more flexible where they choose to live in the UK if they do not have any ties here currently. Hence, it is easier for them to move somewhere where the jobs are.

I know this doesn't apply to all immigrants, but I suspect it applies to a fair few.

This is where the OP and the 'you're a racist if you're against immigration' crowd on here have it wrong; personally, I am against this open-door imigration policy and not only want it stopped, but reversed. In the same way a few years ago the Welsh had the 'come home to a real fire' campaign. They were not against the colour or race of the 'immigrants' (who were predominantly white and English), it was the numbers and the adverse effect on the local community of a huge influx of 'rich' people buying up their homes.
Nationally, the anti-immigration view is against a massive influx of low or un-skilled cheap labour, of any colour (including white). In my humble opinion, we have enough un-employed low or un-skilled British people already without creating any more, but they simply cannot compete against imported cheap competition.

Positive discrimination is illegal!
