I find that nowadays people take offence at the slightest thing and they are irate over basically ..nothing. Unfortunately and sadly its the world we live in.

I have a dear friend, froggy, since we were 3, who lived in France for ten years and now lives in the US. She uses French sentence construction, speaking English, with a mid-atlantic accent.

Most endearing and v.funny.

I know, my English is not that great.. I do hope I am not making too many mistakes.. There are so many teachers on these boards, that sometimes I feel intimidated ...
My accent is a mix of French / Berkshire slang & mancunian...
According to some, I bear a ressemblance to the tall policeman in "Allo, Allo"...

Actually I often find myself thinking how amazingly idiomatic your English is if it's not your mother tongue. Anyway, all that matters on here is that we communicate well enough to be understood. So don't let anybody intimidate you, least of all teachers like me.
