    And you don't need to leave it on 24/7 like the previous owners-set it up on a timer for a couple of hours morning and evening.
    But as mentioned above, unless you really want large electricity bills, then you should get the system converted to heat the tank via the boiler-heating your water by electricity will be about 3 times more expensive. The immersion should only be used as an emergency backup. Indeed, the system may already be installed, but inoperative.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
