Flybe baggage allowance help please....

Hello. I have searched for a thread but can't find one with my problem so i'm hoping someone can help me, please.

Tomorrow i am flying for the first time with Flybe and i'm not too sure about the baggage allowance. At the time of booking i paid for one bag each for my son and myself, thinking that we could both carry 20Kgs in weight PLUS the usual hand baggage. Yesterday when i was going through theinfo again, i cam accross this....

Baggage allowance and restrictions
The maximum permitted dimensions for a single piece hand baggage are 50cm x 35cm x 23cm. Bags being carried outside of these dimensions will be placed in the aircraft hold and standard baggage charges will apply. When measuring your hand baggage, and where appropriate, please ensure that you include the bag's handles and wheels.
Sector 1 - OUTBOUND
You may carry 1 bag, weighing no more than 10Kg and small enough to fit in the Flybe baggage sizer into the aircraft cabin. We will have to check any bags bigger or heavier than this into the hold and may charge you £30 to do so.
Each bag carried in the aircraft hold will be charged at the prevailing rate at the time of purchase. Flybe offer a discounted, non-refundable rate for the first bag paid for on Flybe.com in advance. By paying for 1 bag you are able to check in up to 20Kg. If you pre-book 2 or more bags online you can check in up to 40Kg. No single bag can weigh more than 30Kg

Sector 2 - INBOUND
You may carry 1 bag, weighing no more than 10Kg and small enough to fit in the Flybe baggage sizer into the aircraft cabin. We will have to check any bags bigger or heavier than this into the hold and may charge you £30 to do so.

Now, does this mean that we can only carry 10kgs as hand baggage and nothing else? or have we paid for our hold baggage and we can also carry 10kgs of hand baggage?. Do i go online and book extra rather than get to the airport and find that i'm being charged another £30 per bag, per person, for each journey, so a total of another £120?. It has got me really confused now as to what i can or cant take!.

I've included a screen shot of my booking in case that helps anyone see what i have or dont have....

That screenshot looks like you have paid for 1 piece of hold baggage for each of you - these bags must be 20kg or less in weight each.

In addition to your hold baggage you may carry on another bag which must be within the dimensions for cabin baggage and less than 10kg in weight.

I don't think you need to worry.

Hi John, thanks very much for the prompt reply.

I thought exactly the same too when i made my booking, it's only when i double checked the times etc, that i noticed the stuff about the baggage and started to wonder. I'm more than happy to pay for extra if needed but dont want to do it if i've already paid for it.

This is the first time i've flown with Flybe, from an airport i've never used before, into an airport i've never used before, I guess i was just starting to panic a bit.

    Thanks again. :)

Flybe's cabin baggage dimensions are smaller than most other airlines, so check the size of your carry-on bag.
However, I have flown with Flybe many times, and nobody has ever given my bag more than a cursory glance, and I have never seen a Flybe bag sizer at check-in. Still, it's in their regs, so check!

I'll definitely do that nigelgg, thanks. I dont usually take much in the cabin with me, just my handbag... hmm.. that could be classed as a lot!.. Seriously though, i've seen many people take on what i would class as a weekend case on flights before now. Anyway, i think my handbag is well within the dimensions.

Many thanks for the reply. :)
