The reason I think they should honour this misprint is as follows:

Yesterday, there were two reviews of the product on the site, at present there are no reviews. Hence, someone must be moderating the product. If they are able to delete comments, they have had the opportunity to rectify any other problems (i.e. remove the mis-priced product altogether).

Personally, I think this is a stunt by HMV to make people sign up and buy other products. Just look at the items listed in "customers also bought," many of these are XBOX related and probably purchased with a view to taking advantage of their new XBOX Live subscription.

I wouldn't mind if HMV had taken the product down saying it was a mistake, issued a cancellation notice to everyone, and we all had a laugh about it. But these are very deliberate tactics to encourage people to sign up, and obviously many people have purchased items that they wouldn't have were it not for their new subscription, which I don't think are fair. Not to mention all the credit card and other personal details the company now have in their posession as a result.

I assume that since the Hotukdeals page starts with a petition asking HMV to honour misprices the deal is never going to happen?

p.s. Has anyone thought to phone up HMV and ask if this is genuine?

Golden rule number 1 - never phone

Sometimes you get lucky with automated systems and a few make it through to delivery before staff come in on a Monday

The petition only went up later on in the glitch
  • Someone on Hduk has put this as a comment -

'I've got 1000 on order lol.

If they don't honour the price, I'm going to use the money for a team of lawyers and take hmv to the high court! For section 8008 of Internet consumer purchases

BTW... I don't even own an xbox'

That last part has made my day :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

So do you need a Gold account to use this??

    No no not at all.

Ive bought this CoD package before.
All it is , is a DVD case, with all CoD art work on it, they have been out since CoD became a craze game... its a way for xbox to sell more gold accounts.
Inside this dvd case is a little card with a long number on it.
When your on your xbox.. input the code,.. and bang! you have 12 mth subscription to the Gold account status.
even if you already have a gold account, it will increase the expiration date.

consider it, a top up.. like a top up voucher, but in a Call of Duty (CoD) special art work box.
its not really anything to do with CoD.. you can play any game online with your mates from around the world.. its just a promo to get people buying subscriptions to gold accounts.

When you buy an xbox... you automaticly havea silver account, a silver account is free, but dosent let you play online , nor does it let you download some exclusive content and games.

So a gold account is needed to.. make your gaming better, to meet up with mates in the games cyber world.. and talk to them on ya head sets, play CoD together, Halo 3, Red dead redemtion and a load more other games.

you will have to be connected to the internet yes... buy plugging the xbox into the back of the PC... or buying a wireless adaptor (£40 - £50)

sorry this post is so long.. im a bit of a sad XBOX lover and cant live without it.. yes I have no life lol.. go to work.. xbox.. go to work.. xbox.. etc etc.. :D

    Are you my husband?

Also xbox wireless connector or ethernet cable only needed if you have bought the older style console and do not have a wireless N router.

The new xbox 360 slim is wireless enabled. But you do need a wireless router.
  • Like others I've gone for a punt, fingers crossed they honour it eh? :) Would make OH happy if it does go through!
