seller sold me duff item and won't refund

I paid 5.99 each. New from Epson are 11.99; from Costco are about £8-9.
Compatibles are about £3 each on Ebay.
You see genuine Epson ones on Ebay and they can be any price. Private sellers having changed printers often start their items at 99p.
If you are an honest seller you would use the word compatible in your description and/or title, you would photo the item you are selling not one you are not selling.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. To be fair he did list it in the correct section, it's kinda your own fault for not realising that and looking at the auction more carefully.
Dont mean to offend, but it's not like he went out his way to con anyone and make it out to be a genuine cartridge when it wasn't.
Why dont you just use them? surely less hassle than tryin to sell them on at a loss.0 -
But if he's used a photo of a genuine cartridge then surely he has tried to mislead people?Cover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0

Please explain how using a picture of an Epson cartridge is not "going out of his way to con".5thElement wrote:Dont mean to offend, but it's not like he went out his way to con anyone and make it out to be a genuine cartridge when it wasn't.
The picture accompanying the auction gave the buyer confidence that they were getting an original cartridge.
So they were conned.
I do take your point that it was in the correct section, so if it could be claimed to be a genuine mistake and if he'd come clean and refunded straight away he wouldn't deserve a neg, but refusing to refund puts hin squarely in the baddies section.0 -
I thik it is the same as listing a silver necklace and showing a picture of a box and hallmarked necklace and then sending costume jewellery; looks the same, acts the same, but isn't.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. If he has used a copy of a picture from Epsom, he has breached copright ruling. I know a lot of people do it, but he has been caught out. I used Goofbay today and found someones negative, I wonder how it hides some, but not others."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0

Does this guy sell quite alot of cartridges? Was there no where in the auction that even suggested they were compatible? Could you maybe post a link to the auction?Weight Loss - 102lb0

Did, he's just made his feedback private, so he can't sell at the moment.

NO
Could you maybe post a link to the auction?
Seller id is fastest-uk-shipping
Feedback gone private after one neg (not from me) thats says, "Received a compatible when auction description, photo and title was Epson cart. Refund refused"
The only reason to make his feedback private would be to hide the comment. If he is not doing anything wrong, in his eyes, he should have just replied to the feedback. The only reason to hide it is to stop people seeing he is selling compatibles.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. What I am saying is ,I NEVER jump in with a neg until I have exhausted all options ,yes ,he is selling compatibles with a genuine picture, which is wrong.I always email the seller through ebays` ask the seller a question link before buying, especially when dealing with sellers of cartridges, memory cards etc..but the amount of negs that are left for the silliest of reasons is unbelievable, you only have to read other threads on this site and on the ebay seller forums to see how a misunderstanding can result in neg feedback,if paypal doesn`t make him see sense then leave him a neg saying buyer beware. He has made his feedback private so he will lose alot of potential buyers anyway. He may see sense if he does the leave a neutral.Moglex wrote:I suppose it's a matter of opinion, but I would have thought that anyone using a picture of something that they are not selling is indulging in fraudulent behaviour and should be negged at every opportunity.
Why do you feel that negging, which is the only realistic way of letting other potential customers know what he is up to should be a last resort?
Do you think he should be allowed to con other people in the way he as conned the OP?I would love some decent telly on a Saturday night0 -
you could also report him to trading standards...Work to live= not live to work0
