I just wish I knew for certain that the Vega would get marketplace in the New year when gingerbread is released.
Not that I really want it for apps anyway but still!

It is meant to be easy to install the DIY marketplace on any Android tablet.
If unsure check a week after it is released to confirm.

Netbooks are still better in normal performance so I would never rush to buy.

I just can't be doing with another booooring windows device! Having an iPhone I am now used to being able to do so much with a gadget that a netbook just wouldn't cut it!
That being said, if someone offered me the new diddy MacBook air I wouldn't say no (but obviously Steve Jobs would tell me that is in no way a netbook)

iPhones rock! The lack of flash does prevent you looking at some sites though!

It does state it has the Google Marketplace though....my 1 doubt about getting the Vega on launch day.

I'm looking for a Tablet too, however please note that not all Android O/S come with Market (application search / download). Good comment for the post above, also have seen the Advent however no market functionality until the start on next year..

Check the processor speeds too.... Many versions appear to have a trial version of Windows 7, not sure how much this is to buy - could increase the cost another £100+

the only confirmed tablet that will come with the android marketplace is the samsung tablet that's due out soon, google still say android isn't ready for tablets and with their chrome operating system on the way next year it's in doubt whether they will use that for tablets instead of taking android there.

as for touch screens resistive can be ok and on the whole i find my girlfriends HTC tattoo with one more accurate than my heros capacative one, but for the slight gain in accuracy it drives me crazy, i can't do pinch to zoom and swiping between home screens is frustrating as you have to use your nail and drag it around, for a tablet i would definitely avoid resistive.

Samsung have gone back on their word price wise....I just dont understand why you would want to pay over £400 for it? I'm not interested in phone functionality, I have a mobile for that and 3G would be useful but mine would hardly ever leave the house anyway!

I think i'm going to try and be brave and not buy a tablet for a few months, my iphone does pretty much everything anf hopefully soon Apple will update their new Apple TV so you can stream your videos etc straight from your iphone to your tv. That will be quite cool and means I dont have to faff about getting everything onto the laptop first.
Hopefully, sometme in the new year tablets will be all over the place and I will be able to really see if I actually want one...if I buy the Vega and it isn't everything I was hoping for I will be so annoyed at myself!
