Also, does the screen look a bit too narrow compared to the masive border?

I dont have a clue between the touch screens lol xD aslong as they work :P and yee they sell some quite nice stuff for the iPod and radios and stuff

Bleurgh, every resistive touch screen I have gone near has driven me to dispair (the ones you have to put pressure on and kind of really drag)
Apple use capacitive.....all nice and easy. No pressure needed!
Hmmm, can you even get multitouch on resistive? I'm FAR to used to my 2 finger action thingy to enlarge stuff (see, told you i'm not a techy)

Looking at the BBC Click review of this (found from your link) has shown me exactly why I hate resistive touch screens.

  • Its only 7" . Whats the point? My phone's not far off that!
    Having a coke with you
is even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona

You're right, I'd forgotten that bit in the 'hype'. The Advent vega is 10.1. (£249) and at the same time they are also releasing a 7 inch (the Amigo I think) for £130 so cheaper than this.
Release date 1st Nov from Currys

I have been researching Android tablets last days because I want to buy one. This one seems very very expensive for the specification, especially the resolution 800x480 is very low, I am not sure you can even read comfortably when resolution is that low. Also, I would never ever buy a tablet without reading reviews first, some of them have batteries that last only 1 hour, some have Wifi range of only few meters, they have all kind of glitches and problems, these are new unbranded untested chinese products and warranty is questionable.
They all seem to have resistive touch screens which are apparently not as good as capacitive screen of iPAD, but I was told that it helps that I am a woman (longer nails).

I am considering to buy Eken M005 directly from China, the cost will be £85 incl. shipping, it is 8" screen, 800x600 resolution, the only thing that I am not sure about is low RAM it has, only 128 MB, therefore I might reconsider and go for a version with more RAM but the price will be £45 more.

All these tablets that have Android version lower that 2.2 do not have Flash, therefore not all websites will display properly. There are some 2.2 tablets with Flash introduced recently but they seem to be so new that reviews are not available yet.

If you look for Android tablet, there is wealth of information on this forum: http://www.slatedroid.com/

The CPU very very very old so avoid unless you like watching paint dry.
    Worth a maximum of £100.

However the 10" Advent Vega should be at least twice as fast as the Ipad so well worth every penny. The 7" Vega I think uses the older iPad CPU .

In fact cynical me thinks T J Hughes might have priced it for a half price sale later in the year.
