Hello all
I recently joined Lloyds TSB and they say they won't give me a debit card unless account is 6 months old and regular amounts paid in?
Is this normal?

I opened a Lloyds classic vantage account last year and was given a debit card straight away. Since then I have opened 2 others and have a debit card on those as well
Perhaps it is to do with the result of a credit check. Not Rachmaninov

I didnt even realise Lloyds offered a cash card.
I was always under the impression all there cards was debit cards on there current accounts.
Have they given you a reason to why they have only offered you a cash card?Im an ex employee RBS GroupHowever Any Opinion Given On MSE Is Strictly My Own0 -

Im not sure if a young persons account is credit scored? It says on the website, that if you are 16-18, the account comes with the Visa Debit card (under 16's get the cashpoint card), so unless you are under 16, I dont now why your branch arent allowing you to have one. Did you apply in branch, or did you do it online?Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0

My 11 year old son has an under 19s a/c with a visa debit card. He can only spend what is in the account when using the card. I would go into the branch and ask for the information leaflet about the account then ask for a debit card.Murphys no more pies club member 275:j0

My little brother has an account for 16-19 and got a visa debit (he's 16) straight away. Before he just had a Building Society account.
This was only in AugustWar does not determine who is right - only who is left.0 -

I opened my account a few years ago when I was 14 and I recieved the visa debit card which the option of a cashcard. Personally I find the account good which is why its my current account. debit cards can be issued as long as you are 13+.0
