Stoozing drought

Presumably it hasn't gone unnoticed by most that good BT cards are thin on the ground these days, and are getting less useful and more expensive, and I wonder what people's thoughts are? Will there be a recovery? Are the card companies just prepping new and improved deals for Christmas and new year promos?

I think Al Mac is right, a BT card without a fee is a very rare find these days.0

Got several, but these are my particular favourites...Al_Mac wrote:Got an example
A (virtually) continuous 21 months of 0% on 3 of my cards, each consisting of an initial 9 month offer and 2 x 6 month repeats.
Total BT fees paid = £70 (2 x £35 on Virgin repeats)
Credit limit on these 3 cards = £41K
Total profit = substantial!
My wife and I started stoozing in April 2005, and earned £1,800 in 2005/06
Our forecasted profit for 2006/07 is £2,775
Either stoozing's getting easier, or I'm getting better at it!
My 2006 3rd qtr update is posted on the "how's it going for you" thread on the stoozing site (towards the bottom of the page).0 -
Mrs YB has just bagged 3 of them in the last 4 weeks, having been approved for Post Office, N&P, and M&S (on the old T&C's), to put another £15K in the stooz pot - fee-free! Hoped you wouldn't spot I'd stretched Bisoy's "higher limits and also some occasional repeat offers" quote.Al_Mac wrote:Now that's not really an example:rolleyes:
It's a major regret for me that I 'missed the boat' somewhat Al, and I admire those, such as yourself, who pioneered the concept before it gained the publicity it has now.We started April 2003, way before I found this site. The first year we saved 4.5k interest on the mortgage:j Which we finished paying off early 2005, two years stoozing helped a lot,
I always thought I was savvy, especially when I bagged a series of great BOE-x% tracker mortgages from 2000 to 2004. (The fact that I was only getting BOE less tax on my (small) savings was forgotten!).
However, I now realise how 'green' I was when I think what I could have done with credit cards and an offset mortgage in those early years. Still, I'm making up for it now.

a drought there surely is but I'm not one to give up hope.
my guess is that the market will readjust the minute one of the providers breaks ranks. when this happens I'll be rat-like up a drainpipe but I'm not expecting anything anytime soon.miladdo0 -

Hi
Thanks to the stoozing website, I have just applied on-line and been accepted by the Norwich and Peterborough BS, for their 6 month 0% on the BT with no fee. Fastest acceptance ever, a slight pain having only 6 months on this occasion, but these cards are getting rarer now, and I got a good credit limit too.
Will probably need one more card after this to clear the "debt" (the money which has been saved into an ISA), and then I think that's my lot, gets a bit tricky keeping on top of all the dates, and trying to find a fee free BT.0
